When I was a boy, I had a passion for anything with wheels. Bicycles. Skateboards (with steel wheels, of all things).
Then when I was 15, something changed. I bought my first motorcycle. Now, my passion was for wheels... that went fast. And before I turned 16, my first motorcycle was sold and a new, better motorcycle was purchased -- a true motocross bike: a Sachs 125
I started racing. I didn't win, but was good enough to be mentioned in the local motorcycle newspaper, Cycle Scene West. Only problem was they didn't have enough writers/photographers. So I raised my hand, got hired as a freelancer and the rest is history.
From that modest beginning, I was running a weekly motorcycle newspaper by age 18 (Southern California MX News). By age 21, I was Editor of MiniCycle/BMX Action magazine and was Associate Editor of Street Bike magazine. My photography graced covers of various publications... but I came to a crossroads -- to be a writer... or a photographer.
I chose writer. And it was the perfect choice.
Fast-forward 35 years and I finally sold my 35mm Nikon film camera and jumped into the modern world of digital photography, which I'd like to share with you on this site.
I only have one requirement: Enjoy!
